Foundation Helps Launch Vivid Display of Support for "Forgotten Children"
"Forgotten Children," a dramatic event launched by National CASA Association and supported by the Freddie Mac Foundation aims to give voice to foster children nationwide while still preserving their privacy. Since underaged foster children cannot appear for themselves, life-sized, cut-out photos will take their place in the shadows of the Washington Monument on the National Mall this week – at the pace of 850 per day, which is how many children enter the system each day.
Foundation Helps Families Thrive in New Affordable Rentals
The Foundation recently joined AHC Inc., a nonprofit developer and owner of affordable housing in Northern Virginia, to open a nine-story building with 108 new apartments for low- and moderate-income residents. A $500,000 Foundation grant will expand needed resident services for families and children in this AHC property and others.
